ASSESSMENTS

are offered for all ages, in the format most suitable for individual requirements.

 

   1.   to ascertain the presence , or not of dyslexia

  1. to further personal knowledge and understanding of dyslexia

  2. to afford an effective acceptable Assessment Report, to accompany an application for Access Arrangement

 

 

 

Please telephone or e-mail to the above addresses for appointments.

A deposit of £25 is required for all assessments, payable within seven days of booking an appointment.  The deposit is non-refundable if a cancellation is not notified within 24 hours prior to the agreed date and time of the assessment.

An assessment can take up to three hours.

 

(Two hours for appropriate testing, plus one hour for discussion)

 

A written report is issued within two weeks of the assessment date.

Extra copies of the report can be obtained for a fee of £10 per copy.

 

If necessary, telephone follow-up discussions can be arranged.

 

LECTURES

 

Lectures can be arranged for educational institutions, at all levels (including teacher training days)

Also visits to Local Dyslexia Associations, or any organisation wishing to enhance its knowledge of dyslexia.

Lecture areas cover all aspects of dyslexia including:

 

  • Coping Strategies, (Positive and Negative)

  • Lifelong Manifestations of Dyslexia

  • The real nature of dyslexia

  • Lateral thinking

  • Dyslexia as an ‘effective difference rather than an affective disorder’

  • ‘Remedies’ and ‘Cures’ –  should they be treated with caution?

  •  Recommendations for literacy skill teaching/essential methods.
